DIP
Sean Paul
Dancehall with a Jersey Club vibe, modern Trap and EDM crossover influence, produced by Sean's Dutty Rock Productions, with production and marketing support by American Model & DJ Sommer Ray.
Label: Dutty Rock Productions under license to Milk & Honey Records c/o The Orchard.
Release date: Tentatively Wednesday, September 30, 2026
About the record
"DIP" is Sean Paul in his element: a Dancehall record built for the club, with a Jersey Club bounce underneath and a buildup before every chorus that hits like a festival drop. The hook is a dance instruction, "dip pon d ground, flip and guh down," which is exactly the kind of line that turns a song into a move and a move into a trend. Dancehall deejay flow, sophisticated and sexy lyrics, current production, and a chorus you know after one listen.
Genre-wise, DIP is Dancehall first, sitting on a Jersey Club dance sound: the kick pattern and the bounce come from that world, giving the record a Hip-Hop feel and its lean toward Dance and EDM in the way it builds and releases. The mood is sexy, fierce, and energetic. It's a lights-down, peak-hour record: the verses ride low and cheeky, the pre-chorus climbs, and the "dip dip dip" drop is the payoff, a tension-and-release shape that DJs and short-form editors both love. It's a natural fit for flagship New Music Friday/New Music Friday lists globally, plus Dancehall and Reggae editorial (Dancehall Official, Frequency, Dancehall Station, Worldwide Riddim), for Party and Dance lists (Dance Party, Party Hits, Feel Good, danceXL), and for the Hip-Hop-adjacent and Pop/club playlists where Sean's features have always lived.
Produced in part by Sean himself via his Dutty Rock Productions outfit, it's releasing into an audience that is very much awake: 61M monthly listeners and 200M+ streams a month on Spotify alone, 3.8M saves in the last 28 days, and a listener base that is roughly 70% under 35, the next record in a slew of records that SP's been dropping every 3 to 6 weeks throughout 2026.
The unexpected part, and a genuinely great surprise, is American Model and DJ Sommer Ray's role as co-producer. Sommer has spent the last few years building a name as a DJ, producer, and artist in her own right, currently in the midst of a steady run of Pop-leaning electronic music including recent releases with Bryce Vine, Good Humans, HEDEGAARD, and others.
The collab brings a DJ's ear for the build-and-drop, and a second audience with it: her 35M+ across Instagram and TikTok alongside Sean's, for a combined social reach north of 40M.

Where the audience is
Sean's listener base is genuinely global. The US, Germany, France, and the UK lead, and Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and Colombia all sit inside the top ten, with Mexico and Colombia over-indexing on active listening. "DIP" isn't a Latin record, but those markets are a real, active audience for Sean and get pitched and targeted accordingly.

Proof it converts on spend
The recent Marquee on "Do It" (Germany) pulled a 3.89% conversion rate and a 12.63% save rate off 42K reach, and the "Press Back" Showcase reached 464K with a 6.97% save rate. When Sean's records get in front of listeners, they save and re-stream, which is the exact signal editorial placement compounds.
Spotify for Artists pitch
~480 characters
Sean Paul returns with "DIP," a Dancehall record on a Jersey Club bounce: built for the club, with an EDM-style build before every chorus and a hook that doubles as a dance move ("dip pon d ground, flip and guh down"). Sexy, fierce, and made for peak hour. 61M monthly listeners, 200M streams a month, 3.8M saves in 28 days. Consider for Dancehall Official, Frequency, Dancehall Station, Feel Good, and Dance/Party editorial.
Pitch tags: lead genre Dancehall / Reggae; secondary Jersey Club / Dance, Hip-Hop. Moods energetic, confident, sexy, party. Styles vocal-forward, club, crossover. Submitted this week with placeholder art to lock the slot and give editorial maximum lead time; final art swaps in later without affecting the submission.
Apple Music editorial note
Sean Paul returns with "DIP," a Dancehall single built for the club: Kingston rhythm intact, a Jersey Club bounce underneath, and a build before every chorus that hits like a festival drop. Co-produced by Sommer Ray, who is driving a substantial social and creator push into release week (promotional partner, not an artist credit). It arrives on the back of a live audience doing 200M+ streams a month on Spotify alone, with the US, Germany, France, and the UK leading and Mexico and Brazil inside the top five. Positioned for core Dancehall / Reggae editorial (Worldwide Riddim, New Music Daily, Breaking Reggae, Run Tings) and for Feel Good / danceXL on the crossover side. All campaign traffic routes to a single smart link.
YouTube Music positioning note
"DIP" by Sean Paul, out September 30, 2026 (tentative). Dancehall on a Jersey Club bounce with a hook that doubles as a dance move. Clean Art Track / Topic assets delivered so the smart link's YouTube Music destination resolves on day one. Target Dancehall / Reggae editorial (RELEASED, Afropoppin'), Party and Dance playlists, and regional editorial where Sean over-indexes (MX, BR, CO). Release-day coordinated with the official video and visualiser so editorial and release-based recommendation surfaces fire together.

International New Music Friday network
Recent Sean tracks landed 10 New Music Friday / genre lists in launch week (France #12, Belgium #12, Deutschland, Canada #26, plus NL, Finland, Switzerland, Maghreb, Naija). Marketing at a glance
What runs on every Dutty Rock x Milk & Honey release, and what's specific to this one.
Pre-save campaign: Feature.fm pivot link + Laylo pre-save live well ahead of release, pushed through the co-producer reveal, bio links, pinned posts, and the Spotify Countdown Page. Detail below.
Editorial and DSP: Spotify pitch submitted this week; Apple and YouTube notes routed through The Orchard. Artist Pick, Canvas, Countdown Page, and Clips live on day one.
Discovery Mode: switched on once the song is out and eligible, to widen the net past the editorial push. Detail below.
DJ servicing: "DIP" goes out to DJs through Riddimstream and the top-40 / open-format DJ pools, so it lands in the crates of DJs playing clubs, radio, and events. Real-world spins and dance-floor validation matter on a movement record, and they feed the DJ-set and remix story.
Owned lists: onto the internal playlist and fan networks at Dutty Rock and Milk & Honey from day one, plus Sommer's owned channels and lists where her team is up for it.
Content: the Jamaica shoot (official video, infinity-pool DJ set, studio, solo content, radio and live stream) feeds two months of short-form from both sides.
Creator seeding: the "dip / flip" move seeded as a dance challenge across Dancehall, Dance, and lifestyle creators, with Sommer x Sean split-screen and duet formats.
Paid, timed to catch the drop: a $15,000 Instagram Reels conversion campaign that opens as a small test and scales behind winners, with Spotify Marquee and TikTok Spark Ads behind creator winners in reserve.
Remixes: a run of official remixes after release across House / Afrohouse, EDM, Shatta, and Afrobeats, to keep the song alive past week one.
Pre-save campaign
The link
One Feature.fm pivot link for everything (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music), with Laylo running the pre-save and drop page. Pre-saves become day-one saves, and day-one saves are the signal Release Radar and the algorithm read first.
Where it gets pushed
Sommer's co-producer reveal, bio links on every profile, pinned posts and pinned comments, the Spotify Countdown Page, QR codes on shoot content, and the DJ pack. Every pre-release beat points at the same link.
What we track
Pre-saves by source (Feature.fm and Laylo both report by channel), so we know before release which profile, post, or format is actually converting and can lean into it on release day.
When
Live early, as soon as the pivot link resolves. Pushed hard around the co-producer reveal and again in the final week before release.
Discovery Mode
Spotify's Discovery Mode lets us flag "DIP" to the recommendation engine so it gets prioritized in Radio and Autoplay sessions for listeners likely to like it, in exchange for a reduced royalty rate on those specific streams. It doesn't touch editorial playlists or Release Radar; it widens the net after those have fired.
When: once the track is out and eligible, right after the first editorial wave, to catch the natural post-release-week dip.
What we watch: Discovery Mode streams and new listeners in the Spotify for Artists dashboard, save rate on those streams, and whether it lifts the track's Popularity Index.
The rule: keep it on while it's adding listeners who save; switch it off if the lift goes flat.
Proof it works: "Press Back"
We've already run this play on a Sean record. "Press Back" went into Discovery Mode on July 1, 2026, with Spotify Showcase and Instagram Reels conversion ads layered on top from mid-July. The Orchard's reports show the lift clearly, and it held for five-plus weeks.

+130%
Radio streams per day, five weeks in
+129%

659K
Streams in the first 5 weeks of DM
Week one (report of Jul 8): 143K streams post-DM, up 22% overall; DM-eligible streams up 164%; radio running ~7,800 streams a day, up 165% on the pre-DM daily average.
Five weeks in (report of Aug 8): 659K streams post-DM, up 15% overall; DM-eligible streams 266K, up 129%; radio still ~6,800 a day, up 130%. Radio became the single biggest source on the record, ahead of third-party playlists.
The Orchard's bar for "Discovery Mode is working" is a 200%+ lift on radio. "Press Back" cleared 165% in week one with paid layered on top, versus "Faith We A Keep" earlier in the year, which went backwards in the program. The difference was the marketing running around it.
The read from The Orchard (Craig Markman): Discovery Mode on its own is weak; it works when tied to a trend or a broader push, and catalog tracks perform more consistently than 30 to 90 day old releases. Their suggested play, which we're following: keep a catalog track in the program leading up to a new release so the monthly-listener lift carries into it.
For "DIP": "Press Back" stays in Discovery Mode through the release window, "Do It" was added for September, and "DIP" itself goes in once it's eligible, with the Reels campaign and Marquee running alongside it the way they did on "Press Back."

Content Marketing: Jamaica Trip
The content centerpiece is bringing Sommer to Jamaica to shoot with Sean the week after release. It's the official video plus a stack of short-form everyone can keep posting for two months. Dutty Rock, Kieran Khan, Destine Media, and Milk & Honey handle production, logistics, locations, and press coordination on the ground. Shoot dates: tentatively the first week of October, right after release, pending Sean's and Sommer's availability.
Official music video. Sean and Sommer on location in Jamaica. Everything else on the trip orbits this shoot.
Infinity-pool DJ set at S Hotel, Montego Bay. Sommer playing a set in the infinity pool with the Caribbean Sea and the mountains behind her, "DIP" playing. One striking visual that reads instantly on TikTok and Reels, and it puts her at the center of the record as the co-producer who is actually in it.
Studio session. Sean and Sommer in the studio together, speaking to the production side and how the record came together.
Sommer on her own. Day-in-the-life in Jamaica, getting ready, exploring. Posts naturally to her audience without feeling like an ad.
Kingston DJ set (schedule permitting). A credibility beat: she's not just visiting, she's playing.
Radio run and joint live stream. A Kingston radio run and a live stream with Sean while she's out there. Easy, fun, and big organic reach off both audiences.
S Hotel, Montego Bay. The rooftop infinity pool, looking out over the bay.The pool deck. The DJ set shoots here, mountains and sea in frame.
Content and creator plan
The hook is a dance instruction, so the content plan starts with the move. One clean, repeatable "dip / flip" on the drop, simple enough to duet and copy, seeded as a challenge across Dancehall, Dance, and lifestyle creators before and through release week. Sean already does this well: the clip alongside is Sean and Enola Bedard on the "Ready for the Ride" dance, which is the format "DIP" is built for.
Organic first. Text-on-screen Reels hook variants get tested organically before any spend. Save-friendly seamless loops, since save rate is the signal that matters. Sean Paul legacy-hook edits to prime the 25 to 34 core, which is 43% of his audience.
Sommer x Sean formats. Split-screen and duet content, the co-producer studio angle, and her solo Jamaica content. Winning TikTok hooks feed back into the Instagram paid creative pool.
Creator markets. Seeding weighted to the markets that convert social attention into streams (US, UK, Germany, France, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia), with budget flowing weekly to whatever is moving.
TikTok paid. Spark Ads behind creator posts that are already winning organically only. No cold creative on TikTok.
Paid media
Headline lever
A $15,000 Instagram Reels conversion campaign, optimized for clicks through to the "DIP" smart link (Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music) rather than reach or impressions. A ~21-day flight that opens as a small test right after release week and scales only behind what's converting.
We keep paid light going into release. Organic, the editorial feature, and Release Radar do the work in week one; the Reels campaign and Spotify Marquee kick in right after that first wave to offset the natural post-release dip and keep the numbers climbing. We optimize for cost per click-through, save rate, and streams generated per click. Nothing goes live until the smart link's conversion tracking is confirmed firing.
Proof of conversion from previous campaigns: "Faith We A Keep"
This is the same play, already run on a Sean record. The "Faith We A Keep" Instagram Reels conversion campaign spent CAD $21,835 (roughly US$15.5K, the same size as the "DIP" budget) and turned it into 74,805 conversions at $0.21 each, with the streaming numbers to match.

The ad side (Meta, Looker report): 8.6M impressions, 3.2M reach, 3.1M post engagements, 119,138 link clicks, 74,805 conversions at US$0.21. That's the benchmark the "DIP" kill and scale rules below are set against.

Spotify (Feb 4, 2025 to Feb 3, 2026, worldwide): 1,474,425 streams, 572,973 listeners, 85,901 saves, 51,014 playlist adds, 2.57 streams per listener. Daily streams peaked above 50K and saves above 4K a day while the campaign ran.

Submission checklist
Spotify for Artists: confirm "DIP" holds the one-unreleased-song pitch slot (no other unreleased track sitting on it) and submit with the placeholder art. Hard deadline is seven days before release; the earlier the better for editorial lead time.
Apple Music and YouTube Music: route the notes above through the Orchard editorial contacts, aligned to the tentative Sept 30 date.
Playlist targets: validate each target against current live status and add follower counts and a one-line fit at submission.
Content links: streaming preview, press photos, visualiser, final artwork, and the Feature.fm smart link to follow before release; final art swaps in without affecting the submission.
Discovery Mode: add "DIP" once it's eligible, with "Press Back" staying in the program through the release window.
